About BLush Convention

BLush is the longest running BL-related convention in the Philippines. It has its roots in Lights Out: Philippine Yaoi Convention which ran from 2003 to 2010, before it was re-established as BLush Convention in 2012.

The inaugural BLush Convention was held on 8th August 2012 at 500 Shaw Events Pavilion in Mandaluyong City. The convention played host to over 400 fans, and featured talks by eminent Japanese manga scholars Kazumi Nagaike, Fusami Ogi, and Tricia Santos-Fermin.

The second BLush Convention was held on 3rd May 2014 at the Ikeda Hall of the University of the Philipines Diliman. The convention almost doubled in size at 700 attendees, and featured panels by Indonesian comic artist -fe and Filipino comic artist Tintin Pantoja.

BLush Petite — a small, in-between event was held on 22nd August 2015 due to insistent demand by fans and artists alike. Despite its limited slate – featuring only the BLush Market and Café La Vie En Rose, BLush Petite saw 800 fans come together to see highlights by creators Black Monkey Pro.

The third BLush Convention was held on 9th July 2016 at ELEMENTS at ETON CENTRIS in Quezon City. It was to be the final BLush Convention and hosted close to 1000 fans, and featured appearances by Malaysian digital artist kidchan and Thai cosplayer PD.

The fourth BLush Convention was held on 10th February 2018 at ELEMENTS at ETON CENTRIS in Quezon City. The event was hosted due to insisted public demand not just by guests but also by artists seeking a safe space for their fandoms and fannish activities.

The fifth BLush Convention is slated on 13th July 2019 at ETON CENTRIS in Quezon City. The event marks the return of the beloved BLush Anthology — a juried collection of prose, poetry, and art around the theme of travel and BL. Please look forward to our future announcements for programming, exhibitions, and special guests!
